Frequently Asked Questions

Depth psychotherapy explores our unconscious, including the deeper patterns, relationships, experiences, and the many parts of ourselves that shape how we move through the world.

As a queer woman, I understand the importance of having a therapeutic space where you can show up fully without having to explain, defend, or minimize who you are. I utilize a liberatory approach, which centers the experiences of marginalized folks while exploring how identity, culture, relationships, and systemic and sociopolitical oppression shape our mental health and sense of self. We can explore your identity with curiosity and openness, without assuming that being queer, trans, or gender-expansive is something that needs to be fixed, explained, justified, or separated from the rest of your experience.

I draw from a range of approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed parts work, bottom-up / somatic approaches, and psychodynamic therapy. Together we will discover what feels most supportive for you and your individual needs. Resourcing and stabilization are foundational, so we will move at a pace that feels manageable, ensuring safety and capacity together before delving into deeper trauma work, once you feel ready and sufficiently supported.

I am Health At Every Size (HAES)-aligned and utilize a psychodynamic approach to explore the emotions, core beliefs, stuck points, patterns, and underlying needs that may be shaping your relationship with nourishment and your body. We will work collaboratively to determine what level of support is right for you, which may include coordinating adjunctive care with a dietitian, medical doctor, and/or psychiatrist to ensure that you are fully and properly supported.

You can reach out through my contact form, schedule a consultation call through my Calendly link (found on the Contact page), or call or email me directly (both can be found at the bottom of the website). I always like to have initial consultation calls with potential new clients, where we will have 15-20 minutes to talk, ask questions, and get a better sense of one another. From there, you can take all the time you need to decide whether you’d like to work together or not. There is never any pressure or expectation around scheduling a session.
